Every guide on WealthFusions is written or reviewed by JP, a financial advisor licensed in Canada to sell life and accident & sickness insurance through the Life Licence Qualification Program (LLQP). You can read more about JP on our About page.
JP is not a Certified Financial Planner, a CPA or a lawyer. When a topic needs personal tax or legal advice, the guide says so and points you to the right professional.
Check any advisor's licence yourself. Insurance advisors are licensed by their provincial regulator. In British Columbia, you can search the Insurance Council of BC licensee directory.
Figures come from official Canadian sources wherever one exists:
When a number is our own calculation rather than an official figure, the page says so and shows the assumptions, such as the rate of return or the province used.
Every calculation in a guide is worked out in full before publishing, using the current tax year's rates. Calculators use the same published brackets and limits as the articles.
Projections are illustrative only. Real results depend on your income, province, investments and the rules in force when you act.
Our case studies and the short stories at the top of each guide are composites: realistic situations built from common patterns, not real clients. Names and details are invented. Each one is labelled as illustrative where it appears.
WealthFusions guides are free to read. JP can earn commissions from insurance companies when a client buys an insurance product through him, and commissions differ by product. For example, whole life usually pays more than term insurance.
This does not change the maths in our guides. Where a conflict is directly relevant, such as in our term vs whole life and segregated funds guides, the article says so. Full details are in our Affiliate & Compensation Disclosure.
We use AI tools to help with research, drafting and checking calculations. A licensed person reviews every guide before it is published, and every figure is checked against its official source.
Guides are reviewed at least once a year and whenever the rules change: when the CRA indexes limits each January, after federal and provincial budgets, and when CPP and OAS amounts change. Each guide shows the date it was last updated.

We aim to review reports within 5 business days. If a correction changes a figure or conclusion, we note it at the bottom of the guide with the date.
